| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2989

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2989 on page 4, by |
| 3 | | inserting immediately below line 6 the following: |
| 4 | | "(f-10)(1) The Department shall issue a standard written |
| 5 | | policy for each institution and facility of the Department that |
| 6 | | provides for: |
| 7 | | (A) the number of in-person visits each committed |
| 8 | | person is entitled to per week and per month; |
| 9 | | (B) the hours of in-person visits; and |
| 10 | | (C) the type of identification required for visitors. |
| 11 | | (2) This policy shall be posted on the Department website |
| 12 | | and at each facility. |
| 13 | | (3)
Visitations may not be restricted based on disciplinary |
| 14 | | actions generated from the actions of other committed persons. |
| 15 | | (4)
A minor may not be denied entry to visit a committed |
| 16 | | person for lack of an identification. |
| 17 | | (5)
The Department shall post on its website daily any |
| 18 | | restrictions or denials of visitation for that day and the |
