Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board shall require its schools to connect at-risk students in need of behavioral health support and all students with an individualized education program to either community-based or in-school behavioral health support. If the school board requires in-school support to be provided, such support does not have to be implemented until the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.67 and 34-18.60 as follows:

Sec. 10-20.67. Behavioral health support. A school board shall require its schools to connect at-risk students in need of behavioral health support and all students with an individualized education program to either community-based or in-school behavioral health support. If the school board requires in-school support to be provided, such support does not have to be implemented until the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
