AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4344

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4344 on page 3, immediately below line 9, by inserting the following:

"This subsection does not apply to a municipality that is involved in pending litigation on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, or was involved in litigation during the year preceding the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, regarding the municipality's alderman or trustee reapportionment map."; and

on page 6, immediately below line 3, by inserting the following:

"This subsection does not apply to a municipality that is involved in pending litigation on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, or was involved in litigation during the year preceding the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, regarding the municipality's alderman or trustee reapportionment map."; and

on page 6, line 14, by replacing "years." with "years, except that this sentence does not apply to a municipality that is involved in pending litigation on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, or was involved in litigation during the year preceding the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, regarding the municipality's alderman or trustee reapportionment map."; and

on page 8, immediately below line 13, by inserting the following:

"This subsection does not apply to a municipality that is involved in pending litigation on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, or was involved in litigation during the year preceding the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, regarding the municipality's alderman reapportionment map.".
