Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that disenrollment of a Medicaid enrollee from a managed care organization under contract with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall be in accordance with specified federal requirements whenever a contract is terminated between a Medicaid managed care health plan and a primary care provider that results in a disruption to the Medicaid enrollee's provider-beneficiary relationship. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 5-30.6 as follows: |
| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/5-30.6 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-30.6. Disenrollment requirements; managed care |
| 8 | | organization. Disenrollment of a Medicaid enrollee from a |
| 9 | | managed care organization under contract with the Department |
| 10 | | shall be in accordance with the requirements of 42 CFR 438.56 |
| 11 | | whenever a contract is terminated between a Medicaid managed |
| 12 | | care health plan and a primary care provider that results in a |
| 13 | | disruption to the Medicaid enrollee's provider-beneficiary |
| 14 | | relationship.

| 15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 | | becoming law.
