| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 12g as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 415/12g new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 12g. Department of Juvenile Justice; teachers. |
| 8 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the |
| 9 | | contrary, the Department of Central Management Services is not |
| 10 | | required to verify the State educator license of a teacher |
| 11 | | employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice if the license |
| 12 | | is verified by the State Board of Education. |
| 13 | | (b) This Section shall become inoperative when the consent |
| 14 | | decree entered into on December 6, 2012 (as has been or may be |
| 15 | | corrected, amended, or modified in the action entitled R.J., et |
| 16 | | al. v. Mueller, case no. 12-cv-07289, in the United States |
| 17 | | District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern |
| 18 | | Division) is no longer in force.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
