AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5122 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5122 on page 3, by 
3replacing lines 12 and 13 with "fee waiver under subsection (a) 
4shall receive a tuition and fee waiver to assist them in 
5attending and completing their post-secondary"; and


  
6by replacing line 22 on page 3 through line 3 on page 4 with the 
7following:
8    "To receive a waiver under this subsection, an applicant 
9must:
10        (1) have earned a high school diploma from an

11    accredited institution or a high school equivalency

12    certificate or have met the State criteria for high school

13    graduation before the start of the school year for which 
14    the applicant is applying for the waiver;
15        (2) enroll in a
qualifying post-secondary education 
16    before the applicant reaches the age
of 26; and
17        (3) apply for federal and State grant assistance by

1    completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. 
2    The community college or public university
that an 
3applicant attends must waive any tuition and fee amounts that 
4exceed the amounts paid to the applicant under the federal Pell 
5Grant Program or the State's Monetary Award Program.".
