| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 11-1420 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 11-1420. Funeral processions.
|
| 8 | | (a) Funeral processions have the the right-of-way at |
| 9 | | intersections when
vehicles comprising such procession have |
| 10 | | their headlights and hazard lights lighted,
subject
to the |
| 11 | | following conditions and exceptions:
|
| 12 | | 1. Operators of vehicles in a funeral procession shall |
| 13 | | yield the
right-of-way upon the approach of an authorized |
| 14 | | emergency vehicle giving an
audible or visible signal;
|
| 15 | | 2. Operators of vehicles in a funeral procession shall |
| 16 | | yield the
right-of-way when directed to do so by a traffic |
| 17 | | officer;
|
| 18 | | 3. The operator of the leading vehicle in a funeral |
| 19 | | procession shall
comply with stop signs and traffic control |
| 20 | | signals but when the leading
vehicle has proceeded across |
| 21 | | an intersection in accordance with such signal
or after |
| 22 | | stopping as required by the stop sign, all vehicles in such
|
| 23 | | procession may proceed without stopping, regardless of the |
