| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 40 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (615 ILCS 5/40 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 40. Dock safety. |
| 8 | | (a) A person who places or causes to be placed in any |
| 9 | | river, lake, or stream a dock shall equip the dock with |
| 10 | | reflector tape, or any other reflective material or equipment, |
| 11 | | in such a manner that it can be seen by an approaching boat. |
| 12 | | (b) A person who violates this Section commits a petty |
| 13 | | offense punishable by a fine of not more than $100. A person |
| 14 | | who violates this Section and the violation results in injury |
| 15 | | or death of another person commits a Class A misdemeanor.
