Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Requires the school board to develop and distribute to every parent or guardian of a student in the school district a one-page summation of the statute of limitations for a student or a parent or guardian to bring a claim against the school district and any possible courses of corrective action for a student who has been sexually abused or sexually assaulted on the school district's property. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 34-18.60 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/34-18.60 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 34-18.60. Information on statute of limitations; |
| 8 | | sexual abuse or sexual assault. The board must develop and |
| 9 | | distribute to every parent or guardian of a student in the |
| 10 | | school district a one-page summation of the statute of |
| 11 | | limitations for a student or a parent or guardian to bring a |
| 12 | | claim against the school district and any possible courses of |
| 13 | | corrective action for a student who has been sexually abused or |
| 14 | | sexually assaulted on the school district's property. The |
| 15 | | summation must be distributed within one month after the |
| 16 | | beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and the State Board must |
| 17 | | approve the content of the summation before distribution by the |
| 18 | | board.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
