after graduating from the University |
8 | | of Central Oklahoma; she served her country for over
30 years, |
9 | | including with the Illinois Army National Guard, beginning in |
10 | | 1989; and

11 | | WHEREAS, General Tate-Nadeau earned master's degrees in |
12 | | health
administration and strategic studies from Governors |
13 | | State University and the United States Army War
College, |
14 | | respectively; she is certified by the
American Board for |
15 | | Certification in Homeland Security, and credentialed as a |
16 | | Certified
Emergency Manager by the International Association |
17 | | of Emergency Managers; she
received Executive Certification in |
18 | | Counter-Terrorism from the International Institute for |
19 | | Counter-Terrorism
at the Lauder School of Government in |
20 | | Herzliya, Israel; and |
21 | | WHEREAS, General Tate-Nadeau's decorations include the |

Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Army |

public as Executive Director of the Office |
16 | | of Emergency Management for the City of Chicago, a
position she |
17 | | has held since March of 2016; and

18 | | WHEREAS, General Tate-Nadeau has always strived for |
19 | | excellence in
leadership, and has been quoted as saying, "I |
20 | | never wanted to be the best female officer. I
wanted to be the |
21 | | best officer."; therefore, be it
