2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jennett |
4 | | Coleman Alexander; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas |
6 | | to Leroy Sr. and Mildred Coleman on February 19, 1941; she |
7 | | attended elementary school and high school in Pine Bluff, |
8 | | Arkansas; she received her bachelor's degree at A.M. & N. |
9 | | College (now University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff), Arkansas; her |
10 | | master's degree from Roosevelt University and she married David |
11 | | Alexander Sr.; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander was employed by the Chicago |
13 | | Board of Education for more than 30 years as a high school |
14 | | Biology Teacher; she coached her Honors Biology students in |
15 | | proper procedure for producing science projects, many of her |
16 | | students, including her daughter won awards at local, city, and |
17 | | state levels; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander was very active and enjoyed |
19 | | observing nature; she loved to sing, read, write poetry, and |
20 | | cook; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander was very active at Christ Temple |

1 | | Cathedral, where she remained a faithful member for 50 years; |
2 | | she was the chair of summer vacation Bible school, Bishop |
3 | | Lindsay's 25th Anniversary Program, and the CTC's Home Missions |
4 | | Ministry; she was a member and secretary of Saints Alive, a |
5 | | member of the United Christian Women's Ministry, the Deacon |
6 | | John Winter's Family Ministry Group, and she was the Sunday |
7 | | School Teacher of the Victorious Living Sunday school class; |
8 | | and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander was preceded in death by her |
10 | | parents; her husband, David Alexander Sr.; one brother; one |
11 | | sister; and her daughter-in-law; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Jennett Alexander is survived by her children, |
13 | | Jenelle Anita Alexander, and David (Pamela) Alexander Jr.; four |
14 | | grandchildren, David Alexander III, and D'Asia Alexander; four |
15 | | sisters, Gladys (Richard) Dennis, Mary Coleman, Ella (Harold) |
16 | | Washington, and Sarah (Jerry) Mutua; her sister-in-law, |
17 | | Glossie Coleman; her nieces, Janice Coleman, Shannan |
18 | | Washington, Lisha (Michael) VanPelt, and Mwia Mutua; her |
19 | | nephews, Rodney (Phyllis) Trottman, Reginald Dennis, |
20 | | Christopher Washington (DaLynda), Leroy Coleman III, Geoffrey |
21 | | Coleman, and Jason Mutua; her grandnieces, Phylicia Trottman, |

6 | | mourn the passing of Jennett Coleman Alexander, and extend our |
7 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew |
