2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William |
4 | | Sommers "Will" Freiburger, who passed away on February 20, |
5 | | 2018, at the age of 17; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was a senior at Batavia High |
7 | | School; early on, he realized how fragile and precious life was |
8 | | and decided that he would live life to the fullest; he became |
9 | | involved in numerous school activities,
including serving as |
10 | | treasurer of both the Key Club and the student council; he was |
11 | | also a lead
camp counselor at a social skills camp for autism; |
12 | | and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was an excellent student, making |
14 | | the National Honor Society, the National
Spanish Honor Society, |
15 | | and the National Social Studies Honor Society; he was
also |
16 | | named an Illinois State Scholar and was among the top 10% of |
17 | | high school
seniors across the State; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger loved to travel and was able to |
19 | | experience many destinations all over the
world; he visited |
20 | | South America on a charitable service trip; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger enjoyed all sports and played |
|

1 | | tennis for two years; he also enjoyed listening to music
and |
2 | | hanging out with his friends; he had a fondness for wearing a |
3 | | leopard-print
bathrobe, colorful socks, and Birkenstock |
4 | | sandals, as comfort was important to him; he loved to eat and |
5 | | was always on the search for the next foodie destination; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was an avid supporter of organ and |
7 | | tissue donation programs, and his passing will provide up to |
8 | | 170 recipients a second chance on life; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Will Freiburger is survived by his loving parents, |
10 | | Jane and John Freiburger; his brothers,
Keegan, Luke, and Ian |
11 | | Freiburger; his grandmother, Sally Sommers; his
grandfather, |
12 | | Ed Freiburger; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and good
|
13 | | friends; therefore, be it
|
14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
15 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
16 | | mourn the passing of William Sommers "Will" Freiburger, and |
17 | | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all |
18 | | who knew and loved him; and be it further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Will Freiburger as an expression of |
21 | | our deepest sympathy.
