2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dale |
4 | | Hecox of St. Charles; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox was born in Clarion, Iowa to Paul and |
6 | | Golda Hecox on September 28, 1931; he
attended the University |
7 | | of Iowa and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Counter
|
8 | | Intelligence Corps in Japan; he married Sondra Hecox on June 7, |
9 | | 1956; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra moved to Oak Park, where he |
11 | | worked for Price Waterhouse; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra then moved to Elmhurst, |
13 | | where they raised their family and where Dale was active in PTA
|
14 | | events and with the Crescent Park Christmas Tree Land; and |
15 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox first worked for Alwry Engineering, |
16 | | before moving to Dean Foods Company as Controller,
Vice |
17 | | President, and Treasurer, becoming a key member of the senior |
18 | | executive team that grew
Dean Foods from a mid-sized regional |
19 | | dairy company in the late 1960s to a leading national dairy and
|
20 | | specialty foods manufacturer in 2000, when he retired; and |
|

1 | | WHEREAS, In 1988, Dale Hecox and Sondra finally settled in |
2 | | St. Charles, where Dale continued his work with
Dean Foods; he |
3 | | was universally respected and adored at all levels of the |
4 | | organization from
CEOs to the office custodians; his career at |
5 | | Dean Foods was a source of great pride to him and
he treasured |
6 | | his time, his friends, and his tenure there; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra worked tirelessly for the |
8 | | Republican Party, canvassing many precincts; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, In 2004, Dale Hecox and Sondra were awarded |
10 | | President George W. Bush's Crystal Award for their
volunteer |
11 | | efforts in Kane County; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, In Dale Hecox In 2012, Dale and Sondra were |
13 | | honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kane
County |
14 | | Republican Party; their enthusiasm engaged everyone they knew; |
15 | | and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox was preceded in death by his beloved |
17 | | wife, Sondra in 2016; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Dale Hecox is survived by his daughters, Sharon |
19 | | Grether and Susan Sherman; his
granddaughter, Zenobia Avalon; |
20 | | and his grandsons, Maximilian, Alexander, and Samuel; |
21 | | therefore, be it

1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
2 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
3 | | mourn the passing of Dale Hecox, and extend our sincere |
4 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
5 | | him; and be it further

6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
7 | | presented to the family of Dale Hecox as an expression of our |
8 | | deepest sympathy.
