|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to recognize the Illinois Sheriffs' |
4 | | Association for their 90 years of service to Illinois' sheriffs |
5 | | and the counties they represent; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, The mission of the Illinois Sheriffs' Association |
7 | | is to protect the Office of Sheriff, provide executive level |
8 | | training to sheriffs and staff, provide research, resources, |
9 | | and technical assistance to sheriffs' offices, assist in |
10 | | establishing the "rule of law" for the Illinois Criminal |
11 | | Justice Community, and provide resources for community |
12 | | initiatives and education; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, The primary role of the Illinois Sheriffs' |
14 | | Association is to gain community support and build better bonds |
15 | | between sheriffs, the Association, and the communities they |
16 | | serve; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Sheriffs' Association emphasizes the |
18 | | sheriffs' dedication to public safety, protecting lives, and |
19 | | fighting crime; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Sheriffs' Association expresses the |
21 | | importance of professionalism and effectiveness with Illinois |

1 | | law enforcement by strengthening the correlation between |
2 | | sheriffs and community-based initiatives, such as youth |
3 | | scholarships, Special Olympics, drug awareness, training, |
4 | | legislation, and more; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Sheriffs' Association provides |
6 | | programs dedicated to supporting the State's 102 sheriffs in |
7 | | every way possible; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Sheriffs' Association takes pride in |
9 | | all of its charitable goals and missions; for years it has been |
10 | | focused on the youth of the State, truly committed to the |
11 | | belief that an investment in children will pay huge dividends |
12 | | in the future; additionally, the protection and care of the |
13 | | oldest and most vulnerable citizens is not only a commitment of |
14 | | the Association, but also a duty and a responsibility; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, The organization is built on principles, but it is |
16 | | judged on the values, dedication, and commitment of its |
17 | | members; this organization belongs to the sheriffs of Illinois, |
18 | | and every sheriff is an equal partner in its efforts; |
19 | | therefore, be it

20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
21 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
22 | | recognize the Illinois Sheriffs' Association and the sheriffs |
