AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 241 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 241 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended  by 
5adding Sections 9.12a and 12.2a as follows:
 
6    (415 ILCS 5/9.12a new)
7    Sec. 9.12a. Notice. When a permit is required under Title X 
8that may impact air pollution, notice shall be: (1) provided by 
9certified or registered mail to the State Senator and State 
10Representative of the district where the facility will be 
11located; and (2) given to the public within 15 days from the 
12date the application is filed.  The Agency shall work with local 
13officials and community groups to ensure that the public is 
14informed.  No permit shall be issued until all notices have been 
15provided.
