AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 520




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 520 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended  by adding 
5Section 50 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 105/50 new)
7    Sec. 50. Continuing appropriation of federal money. This 
8Section shall constitute a continuing appropriation for the 
9fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 for the distribution of any 
10federal funds received by the State after June 30, 2017 and 
11before July 1, 2018 for the purposes authorized by the federal 
12government for those funds. This Section shall also constitute 
13a continuing reappropriation of any amounts from those funds 
14remaining unexpended at the close of business on June 30, 2018 
15and at the close of business on June 30 for each fiscal year 
16thereafter. Funds appropriated and reappropriated under this

1Section shall be disbursed in accordance with any requirements 
2imposed by the federal government and nothing in this Section 
3shall be construed in such a way so as to avoid any 
4requirements imposed by the federal government in disbursing 
5funds to the State. The State Treasurer and State Comptroller 
6are hereby authorized to make distributions of federal funds as 
7provided herein.
 
 
8    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
9becoming law.".
