| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1467

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1467 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing | ||||||
| 5 | Section 2.5 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (520 ILCS 5/2.5) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 2.5. Crossbow use conditions. | ||||||
| 8 | Any person may use a crossbow to take any animal during the | ||||||
| 9 | appropriate archery season. | ||||||
| 10 | A person may use a crossbow if one or more of the following | ||||||
| 11 | conditions are met: | ||||||
| 12 | (1) the user is a person age 62 and older; | ||||||
| 13 | (2) the user is a person with a disability to whom the | ||||||
| 14 | Director has issued a permit to use a crossbow, as provided | ||||||
| 15 | by administrative rule; or | ||||||
| 16 | (3) the date of using the crossbow is during the period | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | of the second Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday | ||||||
| 2 | through the last day of the archery deer hunting season | ||||||
| 3 | (both inclusive) set annually by the Director. | ||||||
| 4 | As used in this Section, "person with a disability" means a | ||||||
| 5 | person who has a physical impairment due to injury or disease, | ||||||
| 6 | congenital or acquired, which renders the person so severely | ||||||
| 7 | disabled as to be unable to use a longbow, recurve bow, or | ||||||
| 8 | compound bow. Permits must be issued only after the receipt of | ||||||
| 9 | a physician's statement confirming the applicant is a person | ||||||
| 10 | with a disability as defined above.

| 12 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
