SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

15 ILCS 20/50-35

Amends the State Budget Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that within 48 hours after the Governor's budget address, the Governor's Office of Management and Budget shall file a copy of the entire budget, except for budget implementation, as a single appropriations bill prepared by the Legislative Reference Bureau with the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader of the Senate, and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Budget Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing Section 50-35 as follows:

(15 ILCS 20/50-35)

Sec. 50-35. Publication Online publication; budget.

(a) Within 60 days of its enactment into law, the Governor's Office of Management and Budget shall publish to its website the budget of the State of Illinois for the coming fiscal year in its entirety in comma-separated value format (.csv), Xtree for Windows Script format (.xcl), or another comparable format.

(b) Within 48 hours after the Governor's budget address, the Governor's Office of Management and Budget shall file a copy of the entire budget, except for budget implementation, as a single appropriations bill prepared by the Legislative Reference Bureau with the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader of the Senate, and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
