| 1 | | AN ACT concerning wildlife.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 13 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 305/13 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 13. Supplemental deer food; study. The University of |
| 8 | | Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, subject to |
| 9 | | appropriation and in consultation with the Department of |
| 10 | | Natural Resources, shall conduct a study for a period of at |
| 11 | | least 2 years of the health effects of supplemental deer |
| 12 | | feeding on the wild deer population and whether supplemental |
| 13 | | feeding affects the spread of any communicable diseases within |
| 14 | | the deer population. The study shall also designate geographic |
| 15 | | locations where the practice of supplemental deer feeding may |
| 16 | | be beneficial. The University of Illinois College of Veterinary |
| 17 | | Medicine shall submit its findings and
recommendations to the |
| 18 | | General Assembly
in a report no more than 60 days after the |
| 19 | | completion of the study. The report to the General Assembly |
| 20 | | shall be filed with the Clerk of the House of Representatives |
| 21 | | and the Secretary of the Senate in electronic form only, in the |
| 22 | | manner that the Clerk and the Secretary shall direct.
