AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3288




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3288 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The State Property Control Act is amended  by 
5adding Section 7.7 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 605/7.7 new)
7    Sec. 7.7. Illinois public universities.
8    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or any 
9law to the contrary,  any public university in this State is 
10authorized to sell, lease, or otherwise transfer and convey any 
11property to which that university holds title, whether such 
12property is real, personal, or both, provided that the proceeds 
13from such sale, lease, or conveyance shall be used for the 
14purpose of deferred maintenance of university property or 
15capital projects.
16    (b) For the purposes of this Section, "public university"

1or "university" means the University of Illinois; Southern 
2Illinois University; Chicago State University; Eastern 
3Illinois University; Governors State University; Illinois 
4State University; Northeastern Illinois University; Northern 
5Illinois University; Western Illinois University; and any 
6other public university, now or hereafter established or 
7authorized by the General Assembly.
8    (c) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2022.
 
 
9    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
10becoming law.".
