2 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General |
3 | | Assembly pays honor and respect to the truly great
individuals |
4 | | who have served our country and, in doing so, have made the |
5 | | ultimate sacrifice for our
nation; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Lester H. Leopold was born in Wilmington on |
7 | | August 26, 1948 and was a 1966 graduate
of the Will County |
8 | | School System; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Leopold went on to serve his country in the |
10 | | U.S. Army with the 1st Cavalry Division; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Leopold began a tour of duty in South Vietnam |
12 | | on July 21, 1969; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Leopold was killed in action in the Tay Ninh |
14 | | Province of South
Vietnam on September 6, 1969; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Leopold was survived by his mother and two |
16 | | siblings; therefore, be it
|
17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |
