nation; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Gaultney brothers from LeRoy bravely served |
| 7 | | their country during World War II and gave
the ultimate |
| 8 | | sacrifice; and

| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Gaultney served in the U.S. Navy as a |
| 10 | | gunners mate, third class; he was assigned to the
U.S.S. |
| 11 | | Arizona and was mortally wounded on December 7, 1941 during the |
| 12 | | attack on Pearl Harbor; he died on December 24, 1941 in the |
| 13 | | Navy Hospital at Pearl Harbor; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Gaultney also served in the U.S. Navy as a |
| 15 | | machinist's mate first class; he was
assigned to the heavy |
| 16 | | cruiser U.S.S. Vincennes and died on August 9, 1942 when his |
| 17 | | ship was sunk
during the naval battle of the Solomon Islands, |
| 18 | | Guadalcanal campaign; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, David Gaultney served with the U.S. Marine Corps |
| 20 | | as a private first class; he was assigned
to Company A, First |
| 21 | | Battalion, Third Division, Ninth Regiment and died on March 3, |
