SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Chris Knapp of Danville, who passed away on November 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was born in Danville to Melvin and June (Grubb) Feezor on December 22, 1954; she married Doug Knapp at Danville First Assembly on November 17, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp finished cosmetology school before she even graduated high school and worked as a hair stylist for many years; she worked at Elite Style & Color, J.C. Penny Salon, and Creative Designs in Danville; she and her husband established Express Packaging Service & U-Haul in Danville in 1996; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp volunteered with many organizations, including Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society and Service International, helping provide disaster relief; she also volunteered at the Danville Women's Care Clinic, where she loved watching the children and was deemed the "baby whisperer" because she could always tell what the children needed in order to calm them down; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, and meeting new people; most of all, she was a cheerful giver and enjoyed countless interactions with people she met; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp possessed many wonderful attributes; her greatest one being that she lived to serve others; she possessed a quite and reassuring strength with her ministry of presence and servanthood and joined her husband in the ministry in 2006 in the New Life Christian Center; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Feezor; her stepfather, Joseph Bannon; her nephew, Ryan Feezor; and her father-in-law, Robert D. Knapp; and

WHEREAS, Chris Knapp is survived by her husband, Doug; her mother, June Feezor-Bannon; her mother-in-law, Bonnie (Doug) Knapp; her children, Robert (Heather) Knapp, David Knapp, and Stephanie (Adam) Sexton; her brothers, Timothy (Reta) Feezor, and Brian (Michelle) Feezor; her grandchildren, Tristan, Kylie, Harden, Kaden, Karter, Rylan, Conner, and Rhett; her nieces, April (Brett) Kuras, Ashley (Devon) Meadows, and Kelsey and Brianne Feezor; her nephews, Daniel and Ian Feezor; and several great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Chris Knapp, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chris Knapp as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
