| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Henry "Hank" J. DeBoer of Marengo, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 13, 2017 at the age of 76; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was born in Chicago to Henry and |
| 6 | | Martha (Hoving) DeBoer on March 29, 1940; he married Christine |
| 7 | | Olsen in Berwyn on December 5, 1964; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was a veteran of the United States |
| 9 | | Army; he was the proprietor of Marengo Disposal Company from |
| 10 | | 1967 to 1999; he was the past president and founding member of |
| 11 | | the Marengo-Union Chamber of Commerce, and a past member of the |
| 12 | | McHenry County Board; he was the past director of the McHenry |
| 13 | | County Economic Development Commission, a past board member of |
| 14 | | Marengo Elementary School District 165, a past Marengo-Union |
| 15 | | Little League coach, and a past member of the Marengo Economic |
| 16 | | Development Commission; he was a former elder at Delavan |
| 17 | | Christian Reformed Church, and a member of the Marengo Lions |
| 18 | | Club; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago |
| 19 | | Bears; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 21 | | three sisters, Marie DeBoer, Catherine (Gerald) Geers, and |
| 22 | | Catherine DeBoer; and a brother, Albert DeBoer; and
