SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anne J. "Joan" (McKeon) Vollmer of Joliet, who passed away on January 8, 2017 at the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, Anne Vollmer was born in Joliet to William D. and Anna (Legan) McKeon on August 20, 1931; she remained a lifelong Joliet resident; she worked for Lieberman Jewelry as a clerk and purchaser for 31 years; and

WHEREAS, Anne Vollmer was a member of the Church of St. Jude; she was a loving, loyal, and devoted wife; she was an extremely nurturing and doting mother and grandmother; her character was that of kindness and peace; she was the quiet strength that kept the family together; she always remained loyal to the LaVerne and Dottie Brown family; she deeply loved and cherished her sisters and all of their extended families; she will be truly missed by all of her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Anne Vollmer was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Brown; her second husband, LaVerne J. Vollmer; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Anne Vollmer is survived by her four children, James J. (Emi) Brown, Michael P. (Jeannine) Vollmer, Susan (John) Reed, and Sharon (Jack) Tweedle; six grandchildren, Kelly and Eric Brown, Jeffrey (Allyn) and Michelle (Rob Pazely) Reed, Jamie Tweedle (Rob) Koncar, and Beckie Tweedle; her great-grandson, Jack; her sisters, Pauline (the late John) Pucel and Rosylee (Jerry) Menozzi; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anne J. Vollmer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anne J. Vollmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
