| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Walter R. White of Moline, who passed |
| 4 | | away on February 2, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was born in Jacksonville, North |
| 6 | | Carolina to George and Lillian Stringfield White on September |
| 7 | | 19, 1927; he served in the United States Army and graduated |
| 8 | | from North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned dual |
| 9 | | degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering; he married |
| 10 | | Doris "Dollie" Wallace in Chicago; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Walter White retired after 37 years with Rock |
| 12 | | Island Arsenal, where he earned numerous awards; he later |
| 13 | | contracted with KONE Elevators and Escalators; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was a lifetime member of the Kappi |
| 15 | | Alpha Psi Fraternity; he was an active member of the Riverside |
| 16 | | Methodist Men's Group and was an avid golfer; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 18 | | his sisters, Thelma, Helena, and Leontine; and his brother, |
| 19 | | William; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Walter White is survived by his wife, Doris; his |
