SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Russell Leroy Nelson of East Moline, who 
4passed away on February 6, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Russell Nelson  was born in Colchester to James R. 
6and Myrtle M. Reed Nelson on December 27, 1923; he served in 
7the United States Navy during World War II and fought in the 
8Battle of Midway; he married Lilla Agnes McAdams on  May 10, 
91942; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Russell Nelson  was a past Vice-President of Moline 
11Consumers; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Russell Nelson  was the past President of the Rock 
13Island Conservation Club in Milan; he enjoyed scuba diving, 
14fishing, and boating in the Florida Keys, and hunting in 
15Wyoming; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Russell Nelson  was preceded in death by his wife, 
17Lilla; his parents; and his brothers, Jim and Lowell Nelson; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Russell Nelson  is survived by his son, Russ 
20(Kathy) Nelson; his grandchildren, John (Jolynn) Nelson, Yancy

1(Maricar) Nelson, Kim (Shane) Wilkey, and Jake (Grace) Nelson; 
2and nine great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Russell Leroy Nelson, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Russell Nelson  as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
