SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert E. "Pop" Jones of Moline, who 
4passed away on February 11, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Jones was born in Moline to  Robert and 
6Bessie (Bales) Jones on November 8, 1929; he served in the 
7United States Army and  married Julia "Judy" Staut in Moline in 
81954; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Jones retired in 1991 from McLaughlin Body 
10in  East Moline; he previously worked at the Moline Body Co.; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Jones was a member of the East End Club and 
13the Friends Circle Club; he enjoyed fishing and golfing; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Jones was preceded in death by his brother, 
15Richard Jones, and his sisters, Betty Kulig, and Mary Agnes 
16Fox; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Jones is survived by his wife, Judy; his 
18son, Robert (Sara) Jones; his grandsons, Matthew (Nikki) and 
19Michael (Karla) Jones; four  great-grandchildren; and his 
20brother, Ronald (Dorothy) Jones; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Robert E. "Pop" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Robert Jones as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
