| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski of Marengo, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 84; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski was born in Rockford to |
| 6 | | Theodore and Elsie (Lenz) Nork on May 24, 1932; she was a 1950 |
| 7 | | graduate of Marengo High School and in 1954, graduated from |
| 8 | | Valparaiso University in Indiana; she later studied abroad at |
| 9 | | the University of Mainz in Germany, and represented the |
| 10 | | Institute of International Education of New York in their |
| 11 | | exchange student program; she received her Master of Arts from |
| 12 | | Middlebury College in Vermont; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski began her teaching career |
| 14 | | at Elgin High School teaching German and Spanish, leaving to |
| 15 | | study abroad; upon the completion of her studies, she returned |
| 16 | | to Elgin and devoted 28 years to teaching language arts at |
| 17 | | Elgin Community College; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski served Marengo as a member |
| 19 | | of the Marengo Planning and Zoning Commission and as a member |
| 20 | | of the Marengo Society for Historic Preservation; therefore, be |
