SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Irene "Jeanne" Berghoff of Brighton, who 
4passed away on February 21, 2017, at the age of 82; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff was born in Charleston to David and 
6Emma (Bernardini) Giannini on June 13, 1934; she graduated from 
7Marquette Catholic High School in Alton in 1952 and married 
8Robert "Bob" Berghoff at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic 
9Church in Bethalto on October 10, 1959; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff worked for Shell Oil Co. from 1952 
11to 1964, after which, she stayed at home to raise her children; 
12she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and Our 
13Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto where she was 
14present and participated in the Rosary every Saturday; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff enjoyed baking, bowling, animals, 
16especially her dachshunds, and mostly, spending time with her 
17grandchildren, friends, and family; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff was preceded in death by her 
19parents; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff is survived by her husband; her

1children, David Berghoff, and Mindi Lenhardt and her husband 
2David; three grandchildren, Kadi Lenhardt, Emma Lenhardt, and 
3Sawyer Lenhardt; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Irene "Jeanne" Berghoff, and extend our sincere condolences to 
7her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Irene Berghoff as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
