| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Ronald L. Milligan of Edwardsville, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on March 16, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan was born in Alton to Jesse and | ||||||
| 6 | Mary Louise (Logdon) Milligan on January 7, 1944; he attended | ||||||
| 7 | East Alton Wood River High School from 1958 to 1962, where he | ||||||
| 8 | was an outstanding athlete, playing basketball, football, and | ||||||
| 9 | baseball for the Oilers and receiving the All-State Shortstop | ||||||
| 10 | honors; he graduated from Southern Illinois University | ||||||
| 11 | Edwardsville with an accounting degree and served in the United | ||||||
| 12 | States Air Force Reserve for six years; he married Joyce | ||||||
| 13 | Schillinger on March 26, 1966; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan retired from Christian Health | ||||||
| 15 | Services (now BJC HealthCare) in 1995 after 23 years of | ||||||
| 16 | dedicated service; he worked his way up to Chief Financial | ||||||
| 17 | Officer and played an instrumental role in the formation of the | ||||||
| 18 | BJC Healthcare Corporation; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan served on numerous boards, | ||||||
| 20 | including Christian Hospital, Christian Health Services, Alton | ||||||
| 21 | Memorial Health Services Foundation, Alton Memorial Hospital, | ||||||
| 22 | Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville School of | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Business, and River Bend Family Ministries; he also served as | ||||||
| 2 | President and as a Board Member with the Missouri Hospital | ||||||
| 3 | Financial Association and Sunset Hills Country Club in | ||||||
| 4 | Edwardsville; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan was an active member of Whitelaw | ||||||
| 6 | Avenue Baptist Church in Wood River, where he served as a | ||||||
| 7 | deacon, finance chairman, and Sunday School teacher for 50 | ||||||
| 8 | years; he had a passion for golf and spent many hours on the | ||||||
| 9 | links with his wife and friends; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 11 | parents and his infant sister, Connie Sue Milligan; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ronald Milligan is survived by his wife, Joyce; | ||||||
| 13 | his children, Jennie Fuller, and Jill (Chris) Gocal; and his | ||||||
| 14 | grandchildren, Lauren Ufert, Zach Ufert, and Chloe Fuller; | ||||||
| 15 | therefore, be it

| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Ronald L. Milligan, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further

| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
