SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Sara J. Walkington of Woodstock, who 
4passed away on March 22, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sara Walkington was born in Woodstock to Kenneth 
6and Althea (McLaughlin) Tuttle on December 16, 1924; she 
7married Glenn F. Walkington at Greenwood Methodist Church on 
8July 2, 1944; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Sara Walkington worked for many years as a medical 
10librarian for Woodstock Hospital; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Sara Walkington moved to Green Valley, Arizona 
12after retirement; she enjoyed traveling, golfing, crocheting, 
13playing cards, and doing crossword puzzles; she was an avid 
14reader, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her 
15loving family, especially her children and grandchildren; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Sara Walkington was preceded in death by her 
17parents; her son, Phillip Walkington; and her sisters, Phyllis 
18Hoekenga and Libby Tiller; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Sara Walkington is survived by her husband, Glenn 
20F. Walkington; her children, Geoffrey (Patricia) Walkington,

1Gary (Diane) Walkington, Greg (Nancy) Walkington, Trish (Jim) 
2Overly, Paul (Joann) Walkington, John (Jeanne) Walkington, and 
3Ruth (Jesse) Watson; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 
4her two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and 
5nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Sara J. Walkington, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Sara Walkington as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
