| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Fred L. "Scotty" Scott of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 4, 2017; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fred Scott was born in Moline to Fred and Eva |
| 6 | | Hoover Scott on August 11, 1929; he served in the United States |
| 7 | | Army Air Corps during the later part of World War II; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Fred Scott was a fireman in Monmouth when he |
| 9 | | returned from the service; he drove trucks across the United |
| 10 | | States and Canada for many years, receiving many citations |
| 11 | | while helping others on the road; he retired from Eagle Foods |
| 12 | | in 1991 and owned his own construction business until his |
| 13 | | retirement; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Fred Scott enjoyed working and traveling around |
| 15 | | the world; he also enjoyed having coffee with his friends at |
| 16 | | Smokey's, McDonald's, and the Family Restaurant; he had been a |
| 17 | | lifelong member of the VFW and was a member of First Freewill |
| 18 | | Baptist Church in Colona; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Fred Scott was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 20 | | his stepfather, Clarence Boozier; his son, Bobby Scott; his |
| 21 | | grandson, Jason Scott; and two brothers; and
