SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Orville R. Tschopp of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on April 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Orville Tschopp was born in Homestead, Iowa to
6Reinhard and Helen Burgy Tschopp on May 5, 1925; he was a proud
7veteran; he served with the United States Marine Corps during
8World War II, and the United States Navy during the Korean War;
9he married Naomi Forsythe in Rockford on March 2, 1947; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Orville Tschopp worked as a technician for
11Illinois Bell for 40 years, retiring in 1987; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Orville Tschopp was a member of Coal Valley
13Presbyterian Church and Moline American Legion Post 246; he was
14a former trustee for the Village of Coal Valley and a former
15member of the Lions Club of Coal Valley; he enjoyed bowling,
16golfing, and traveling; he was an active member of the Illinois
17Bell Telephone Pioneers, who donate shoes to kids and repair
18talking books for the blind; he was a strong family man who
19loved to spend time with his family, especially his
20grandchildren; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Orville Tschopp was preceded in death by his

1parents; his wife, Naomi Forsythe; and his siblings, Reinhard,
2Luella, Leona, and Norma; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Orville Tschopp is survived by his children,
4Teresa (L. Thomas) Hora, Gregory (Julie) Tschopp, and Sara
5(Ricky) Lampe; nine grandchildren, Rob (Tracy) Hora, Eric Hora,
6Paul Hora, Seth (Sherri) Hora, Cassandra (Keiji) Szalo, Cori
7(Jim) Carnicle, Alex Tschopp, Jacob Lampe, and Tyler (Heidi)
8Tschopp; 18 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Eugene
9Tschopp and Raymond Tschopp; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Orville R. Tschopp, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Orville Tschopp as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
