| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of JoAnn Walker Wyatt of Chrisman, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on March 30, 2017; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt was born in Danville to Vern and | ||||||
6 | Cecile Froman Walker on May 9, 1931; she married Earl Wyatt at | ||||||
7 | the Chrisman United Methodist Church on September 16, 1951; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt dedicated her life to her children and | ||||||
9 | grandchildren; she was a member of several clubs, including | ||||||
10 | Priscilla Club, Household Science, United Methodist Women, and | ||||||
11 | Buzzing Bees; she enjoyed gardening and home projects; she | ||||||
12 | dearly loved her family; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt showed her affection to those around | ||||||
14 | her with food and in her earlier farming days she would bring | ||||||
15 | meals to her husband, son, and the hired hands working in the | ||||||
16 | fields; she would fill the plates and bowls on noontime breaks | ||||||
17 | with beef roast or fried chicken with all the fixings and | ||||||
18 | finish them with pies, cakes, cookies, and thermoses of hot | ||||||
19 | coffee; her affection was also shared at
the many celebrations | ||||||
20 | and gatherings with family and friends and she was quick to | ||||||
21 | learn someone's favorite dish; she was famous for her coffee | ||||||
22 | cake, homemade noodles, or her famous orange jello with |

1 | mandarin oranges, and she always made sure there was plenty | ||||||
2 | left over to take home; she would often mail these favorite | ||||||
3 | treats to her grandchildren all over the country and no one | ||||||
4 | would leave her house hungry; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt will be remembered as a true | ||||||
6 | matriarch; she was fiercely independent, strong-willed, and | ||||||
7 | devoted her life to teaching the importance of family; she | ||||||
8 | loved the memories of the farm home that she and Earl built and | ||||||
9 | deeply treasured all the family gatherings; she was most proud | ||||||
10 | of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and | ||||||
11 | will be greatly missed by all; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
13 | Earl; and

14 | WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt is survived by her children, Jan (Tim) | ||||||
15 | Fonner, Judy (Bill) Beard, and Philip (Lora) Wyatt; her | ||||||
16 | grandchildren, Aaron (Melody) Fonner, Alissa (Jesse) Nixon, | ||||||
17 | Wyatt Beard, Meredith Beard, and Hannah and Hollie Wyatt; and | ||||||
18 | five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
21 | JoAnn Walker Wyatt, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
22 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
