SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of death of Frank H. "Bud" Paschen of
4Jupiter, Florida, who passed away on December 12, 2016, at the
5age of 80; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen grew up in Evanston; he attended
7Evanston Township High School and Northwestern University,
8where he earned a civil engineering degree in 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen started in construction as a teen,
10working for Paschen Contractors, a company owned by his father
11and uncles; his family's name has been linked to Chicago
12construction ever since the Great Fire of 1871; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen founded his company, F.H. Paschen,
14S.N. Nielsen, in 1975; company projects include the Deep
15Tunnel, Midway Airport, the 2012 reconstruction of Wacker
16Drive, courtroom improvements at the Dirksen Federal Building,
17and renovations all along the "L"; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen donated and built a
19non-denominational mission in Ghana, the Power of Faith
20Christian Ministries International and Bible Training College,
21which included a church, orphanage, women's center, and school

1for students with disabilities; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen enjoyed muscle cars and owned a purple
31959 Corvette, the Instigator; he also enjoyed deep-sea fishing
4and taxidermy; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bud Paschen is survived by his wife, Dianne; his
6daughters, Debora, Jeanne, Mary, and Elisabeth; his sons, Frank
7and Daniel; his stepsons, Tony and Paul; his sister, LaVerne
8Finney; 22 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Frank H. "Bud" Paschen, and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bud Paschen as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
