SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of John "Jack" Kennedy of Fairbury, who 
4passed away on April 27, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Kennedy was born in Ottawa to Michael P. and 
6Velma (Schuette) Kennedy on December 5, 1946 and graduated from 
7Seneca Township High School in 1964; he earned his bachelor's 
8and master's degrees from the University of Illinois and 
9married Mary Hallinan in Washington on December 28, 1968; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, John Kennedy was involved with many areas of 
11agriculture; he was an agricultural teacher and later became a 
12agricultural business banker at the First National Bank of 
13Fairbury; he was a consultant and did land appraisals and tax 
14preparation for his many farming clients; he had a passion for 
15farming and enjoyed serving his many clients throughout the 
16years;  he served on several boards including the Spence Farm 
17Foundation and the Prairie Central School Board; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, John Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents; 
19and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, John Kennedy is survived by his wife, Mary; his 
21sons, Michael (Dana) Kennedy, David Kennedy, and Matthew

1Kennedy; and his grandchildren, Claire, Patrick, James, Nora, 
2Aiden, and Allison Kennedy; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5John "Jack" Kennedy, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of John Kennedy as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
