SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul L. Cook of Milan, who passed away on
4May 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Cook was born in Lauratown, Arkansas to Paul
6Cook and Lela Johnson Cook on April 6, 1943; he served in the
7United States Army in Korea and married Holly Krueger; he then
8married Neva McKinley in Union County on April 13, 1993; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Paul Cook worked for the J.I. Case Company (now
10Case Corporation) for 30 years until his retirement in 1994;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Paul Cook was a member of First Landmark
13Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, the Milan American
14Legion Post No. 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club; he
15served on the board of directors for the J.I. Case Credit
16Union, the J.I. Case Safety Committee, and the executive board
17of 806; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Cook enjoyed gardening, fishing, and
19spending time with his grandchildren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Paul Cook was preceded in death by his parents and

1his brothers, Ruben, Burley, and Charles; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Paul Cook is survived by his wife, Neva; his
3daughter, Teresa Pardee; his stepchildren, William McKinley
4Jr., Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Faith Dykes, Pauline Dick (Chuck
5Dole), and Kevin (Julie) McKinley; his 15 grandchildren; his 10
6great-grandchildren; his sisters, Letha Elliott, Anna (Ed)
7Weinert, and Phyllis Munoz; and several nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Paul L. Cook, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Paul Cook as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
