SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Charles Edward Person of Colona, who 
4passed away on May 2, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Person was born in Hannibal, Missouri to 
6Charles H. and Mertie Mae Curtis Person  on June 6, 1931; he 
7married Carolyn Bridgewater on October 28, 1951 and served in 
8the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Person worked for the Hannibal Department 
10of Public Works in his early years; he then was a carpet and 
11tile installer for The Heritage in  Davenport, Iowa; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Person enjoyed fishing for crappie, 
13riding motorcycles and four-wheelers, attending flea markets, 
14country music, playing his Dobro, wood carving, and glass 
15etching; he was a jack-of-all-trades; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Person was preceded in death by his 
17parents and his brother, Delbert; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Person is survived by his wife, Carolyn; 
19his children, Zane (Yvonne) Person, Daryl Person, Tamara 
20Person, Shawn Person, Barry (Julie) Person, and Kyle Person;

1his grandchildren, Tyler, Callie, Haley, Baylor, and Madison; 
2his great-grandchildren, Brody and Colton; and his brother, 
3Harvey (Lila) Person; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Charles Edward Person, and extend our sincere condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Charles Person as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
