SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wayne A. Shotliff of Harvard, who passed
4away on April 23, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wayne Shotliff was born in Alden to Fred and Grace
6(Kimball) Shotliff on March 15, 1936; he was raised on a farm
7and was proud of being able to haul canned milk bottles for
8many years; he married Clara Peretti in Hebron on July 28,
91962; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Wayne Shotliff started the one and only taxi
11business in Harvard in 1968, which he ran for 10 years; he
12later worked at McHenry FS for 15 years; he retired from Aubry
13Manufacturing in Union; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Wayne Shotliff enjoyed fishing, gardening,
15collecting model tractors, and reminiscing about old times; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Wayne Shotliff was preceded in death by his
17parents; his infant daughter, Theresa Lynn; and his siblings,
18Glen, William, Melvin, Harold, and Dorothy Rice; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Wayne Shotliff is survived by his wife, Clara; his
20children, Tom (Cathy) Comer, Debbie (Jeff) Sorensen, Frank

1Shotliff, and Lisa (Steve) Walters; six grandchildren; and four
2great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Wayne A. Shotliff, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Wayne Shotliff as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
