SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Howard J. Goodwin of Beach Park, who 
4passed away on May 14, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was born in Winthrop Harbor to 
6Howard and Frances Goodwin on November 2, 1935 and served with 
7the United States Army; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin retired from the  Outboard Marine 
9Corporation in Waukegan in 1995 after 22 years of service, 
10where he was the supervisor for 12 years; he also worked as a 
11plasterer for various companies in the area over the years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was a member of Lakeview Church in 
13Zion and enjoyed gardening and fishing; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was preceded in death by his son, 
15Timothy John Goodwin; his parents; two brothers; and two 
16sisters; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin is survived by his wife of 56 
18years, Kathleen; his children, Amy (Thomas) Barber, Howard C. 
19Goodwin, and Heather (Robert) Kukla; six grandchildren; two 
20great-grandchildren; and his brother, Charles (Mary) Goodwin;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Howard J. Goodwin, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Howard Goodwin as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
