| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James "Jim" E. Pearson of Ringwood, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 19, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Pearson was born in Woodstock to John and |
| 6 | | Arline (Harrison) Pearson on December 12, 1939; he graduated |
| 7 | | from McHenry High School and earned his master's degree in |
| 8 | | education and fine arts from Northern Illinois University; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, James Pearson was an art teacher at Woodstock High |
| 10 | | School for 33 years, retiring in 1993; he was also an art |
| 11 | | instructor at McHenry County College for several years; he was |
| 12 | | a life member of the Illinois Teachers Association and a life |
| 13 | | member of the McHenry County Retired Teachers Association; he |
| 14 | | also served as a cartoonist for the Woodstock Independent for |
| 15 | | many years; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, James Pearson was instrumental in restoring the |
| 17 | | ceiling paintings of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in |
| 18 | | Johnsburg; he was a life member of the McHenry County |
| 19 | | Historical Society, a life member of the Woodstock Fine Arts |
| 20 | | Association, and was involved in the preservation of the |
| 21 | | Woodstock Square; he was in charge of Ringwood Cemetery for |
| 22 | | over 25 years; he loved to travel all over the world and take |
