| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Green of Joliet, |
| 4 | | who passed away on June 26, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was born to Ralph and Betty Green |
| 6 | | on October 25, 1961; she graduated from St. Paul the Apostle |
| 7 | | School in 1975 and St. Francis Academy in 1979; she graduated |
| 8 | | from the College of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Education in |
| 9 | | 1983; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green dedicated her life to the Joliet |
| 11 | | Park District where she was employed for over 30 years; she |
| 12 | | began as a part-time playground supervisor and progressed to |
| 13 | | Superintendent of Recreation for Special Recreation of Joliet |
| 14 | | and Channahon (SRJC); and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green devoted her time to the special |
| 16 | | needs population and enjoyed coaching the Special Olympics; her |
| 17 | | passion was softball and she was an inspiring mentor to her |
| 18 | | SRJC staff and participants; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan; |
| 20 | | she traveled with her family to different parts of the country |
| 21 | | to support the Cubs and watch them play; her dream came true |
|

| 1 | | when she watched the Cubs win the World Series; she adored her |
| 2 | | great-nephew, Collin, who called her "Auntie", and they always |
| 3 | | looked forward to spending time together; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was preceded in death by her |
| 5 | | father, Ralph Green; her great-grandparents; her grandparents; |
| 6 | | her aunts, Mary Ann Doermann and Marcy Geheber; and her cousin, |
| 7 | | Tom Doermann; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Green is survived by her mother, Betty |
| 9 | | Green; her sister and best friend, Lori Green; her niece, Sara |
| 10 | | (Kyle) Kolodziej; her great-nephew, Collin Kolodziej; and |
| 11 | | numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers; |
| 12 | | therefore, be it
|
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 15 | | Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Green, and extend our sincere |
| 16 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 17 | | her; and be it further
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Kathleen Green as an expression of |
| 20 | | our deepest sympathy.
