SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roberta "Birdie" L. Bakalar of Crystal 
4Lake, who passed away on June 18, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was born to Phyllis Copelin and 
6Robert Knicker on August 4, 1955; she grew up in Bensenville 
7and attended St. Mathews Grade School in Glendale Heights and 
8Driscoll High School in Roselle; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was an employee with AT&T for many 
10years and was a dedicated United States Postal Service employee 
11in Cary for 18 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was extremely passionate about 
13gardening and volunteered her time to help beautify the gardens 
14at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church on Oak Street in 
15Crystal Lake; she loved fishing, antiquing, and road trips; she 
16had a genuine love of life, laughter, and a few beers with good 
17friends; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar was preceded in death by her 
19father, Robert; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Roberta Bakalar is survived by her husband,

1Michael "Beef" Bakalar; her sons, James "JP" Geib, Josh Geib, 
2and Brian Bakalar; and many brothers, sisters, loving family 
3members, and lifelong friends; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Roberta "Birdie" L. Bakalar, and extend our sincere condolences 
7to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be 
8it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Roberta Bakalar as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
