SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Diane M. Thurow of Woodstock, who passed
4away on June 17, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was born in Chicago to Erwin W. and
6Ingrid E. (Thorsen) Schulz on November 10, 1928; she married
7John O. Thurow in Chicago on December 3, 1949; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Diane Thurow worked at Woodstock Auto Lite and the
9First National Bank of Woodstock for many years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was a lifetime member of the VFW Post
115040 Woman's Auxiliary in Woodstock and the American Legion
12Woman's Auxiliary in Marengo; she was an active member of Grace
13Lutheran Church in Woodstock; she loved bringing communion to
14those in the hospital or nursing homes and cooking or baking
15for church functions or funeral luncheons; she also volunteered
16at the gift shop in Woodstock Memorial Hospital for many years;
17she enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, and spending time
18with those she loved; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Diane Thurow is survived by her sister, Betty
20Dusthimer, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
21great-nephews, including: Susie, Sherry, Laurie, Jim, Amy,

1Pamela, Janet, and Nancy; she was godmother to many; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was preceded in death by her parents;
3her husband, John O. Thurow; her brother, Thomas Schulz; and
4her niece, Denise; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Diane M. Thurow, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Diane Thurow as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
