SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of William R. "Bill" Schmidt of McHenry, who 
4passed away on July 1, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Schmidt was born in Elgin to John and 
6Gertrude (Homeyer) Schmidt on January 11, 1955;  he served as a 
7sergeant in the United States  Marines Corps during the Vietnam 
8War; he married Julie Carpenter on February 16, 1980; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, William Schmidt was a former employee of the 
10Village of Vernon Hills; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, William Schmidt was a lifetime member of AMVets; 
12he was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed rock and roll 
13music, especially Elvis and Michael Jackson; he loved 
14motorcycles and riding; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, William Schmidt was preceded in death by his 
16parents and his brother, Paul Schmidt; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, William Schmidt is survived by his wife, Julie; 
18his daughter, Sara (Chris) Hesemann; his son, Michael (Maria) 
19Schmidt; his grandchildren, Laurel, Lucas, and Arianna; his 
20siblings, Lois Bruder, John (Judy) Schmidt, Bob (Madelyn)

1Schmidt, and Donna Mays; and many nieces and nephews; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5William R. "Bill" Schmidt, and extend our sincere condolences 
6to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
7it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  William Schmidt as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
