|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Donald "Don" E. Tallent of Colona, who |
4 | | passed away on June 27, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent was born in Moline to Wayne and |
6 | | Carolyn (Foss) Tallen on July 9, 1942; he served in the United |
7 | | States Army and was stationed in Korea; he attended the |
8 | | University of Iowa and married Sandra McKean in Las Vegas, |
9 | | Nevada on May 18, 1970; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent was a local community banker in the |
11 | | Colona area since 1973, starting with the Henry County Bank and |
12 | | staying through numerous mergers until his retirement from |
13 | | Black Hawk State Bank in 2004; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent was a very community-centered |
15 | | businessman in the Henry County area; he held numerous |
16 | | positions throughout his lifetime with the Lions Club of |
17 | | Colona; he was a member of the Colona School Board and served |
18 | | as Colona Township Clerk; he was a lifetime member of American |
19 | | Legion Post 1233 and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 680; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent enjoyed fishing, golfing, and many |
21 | | other outdoor activities with his family and friends; he was an |

1 | | avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent was preceded in death by his |
3 | | parents; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Donald Tallent is survived by his wife, Sandra; |
5 | | his four children, Rhonda Boutelle; Chad Johnson, wife, Cassie |
6 | | (Hayes) and their children, Brett Johnson and Amber (Ward) |
7 | | Johnson, and his great-granddaughter, Sophia Ward; Amy Park, |
8 | | husband, Chuck Park and their children, Charlotte, Paige, and |
9 | | Ella; Pamela Lewandowksi, husband, Brett and their daughter, |
10 | | Chloe; his mother-in-law, Elaine McKean; his only sibling, |
11 | | Joyce (Ketner) Tallent, husband, Blaine and their sons, Joe |
12 | | Ketner and Scott Ketner and their families; and his lifelong |
13 | | friend and guardian angel, Jim Hayes, who never left his side; |
14 | | therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Donald "Don" E. Tallent, and extend our sincere condolences to |
18 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Donald Tallent as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
