| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Harold J. Possley of Erie, who passed |
| 4 | | away on July 21, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley was born in Watertown, Wisconsin to |
| 6 | | Henry J. and Anna T. (Gebhart) Possley on January 19, 1922; he |
| 7 | | married Dorothy Sullivan in Carthage on June 26, 1947; he |
| 8 | | served in the United States Navy during World War II and was |
| 9 | | stationed in the Marshall Islands; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After college, Harold Possley operated the family |
| 11 | | cheese factory in Erie; he finished his career working in sales |
| 12 | | for Tombstone Pizza; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley's hobbies included working in his |
| 14 | | woodshop, where he was especially skilled at caning chairs; he |
| 15 | | was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan; he was a |
| 16 | | member of Erie American Legion Post 582, a 4th Degree member of |
| 17 | | the Knights of Columbus, and served on the Erie Village Board |
| 18 | | for 12 years; he was also a charter member of the Lake Erie |
| 19 | | Country Club; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley was preceded in death by his |
| 21 | | sister, Valeria Hein, and his brothers, Maurice, Francis, and |
