SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Fred T. Heinritz of Appleton, Wisconsin, 
4who passed away on July 24, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to 
6Fred C. and Rose (Steidl) Heinritz on November 16, 1923; he 
7attended St. Joseph Middle School and Appleton West High School 
8and enrolled at the University of Notre Dame; his college days 
9were interrupted by World War II when he enlisted in the United 
10States Army in 1942 and became a B-17 pilot; he flew missions 
11over Germany from bases in England; he was discharged in 1945 
12and returned to Notre Dame for his graduation in 1947; he 
13married Gretchen Esche in 1949; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz worked at Appleton Coated for  40 
15years from 1947 until 1987; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz served his community as a member of 
17the Appleton Area Jaycees, the Boy Scouts of America, and the 
18Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club; he had many interests and 
19loved traveling the world with Gretchen and the Notre Dame 
20Alumni Association; he was an avid outdoorsman and fondly 
21recalled traveling to Alaska, British Columbia, and the 
22Northwest Territories to hunt mountain sheep; he loved to hunt

1ducks, grouse, pheasant, and deer and fishing for trout on his 
2property on the Little Wolf River in Waupaca County, that  he 
3purchased in 1961 and remains in the family to this day; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz was preceded in death by his 
5parents; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz is survived by his wife, Gretchen; 
7his sons, Rick Heinritz and Charles (Karen) Heinritz; and his 
8grandchildren, Laura, Molly, and Dan (Tracy); therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
11Fred T. Heinritz, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
13further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to  the family of  Fred Heinritz as an expression of 
16our deepest sympathy.
