| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy Bischke of Harvard, who passed |
| 4 | | away on August 3, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Bischke was born in Ringle, Wisconsin to |
| 6 | | Siebren and Johanna (Tepaske) Hettinga on August 14, 1920; she |
| 7 | | was employed in a defense factory during World War II and
|
| 8 | | married William Bischke on April 28, 1944; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Bischke was a homemaker and worked at the |
| 10 | | Admiral Plant in Harvard for a time; she and her husband farmed |
| 11 | | for many years; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Bischke was a member of Trinity Lutheran |
| 13 | | Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years; she also |
| 14 | | served in the Altar Guild and was president of the Trinity |
| 15 | | League for four years and Circle Chairman; she was a member of |
| 16 | | the Women of the Moose and Golden Agers; she served as an |
| 17 | | election judge for Dunham Township for 35 years and collected |
| 18 | | donations for the American Heart Association for many years; |
| 19 | | and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Bischke was preceded in death by her |
| 21 | | parents; her husband, William Bischke; her brothers, Andrew and |
